Straight 8 Weaving

One of the wonderful things about weaving on a table loom is the ability to change your pattern simply by changing the sequence in which you lift the levers. or change your tie up treadles on a floor loom Here is some of the many variations you can weave on a straight 8 threading (meaning your heddles are threaded 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...etc). You can weave patterns within your project or you can have a long warp and weave many projects, all different, with the same threading. Why not try weaving a sampler and seeing how many variations are possible! 

Warp your loom -  use Ashford Mercerized Cotton 5/2 for the sample pictured. Make as wide as you want, using multiples of eight. Thread as a straight eight.
