Kid Mohair ~ Luxurious mohair. Staple length approximately 5”
Sold in 1 oz or 4 ounce increments.
Kid (Hair shorn from Angora goats under 1 year)
Natural white approx. 30 microns, fine and soft Angora fiber.
Kid - Good for next to the skin yarns or baby/angel hair doll crafting.
Mohair is Ideal for crafting, handspinning or blending to other fibers for added strength and luster.
White mohair dyes well. Can be vat dyed, carefully put it in a small lingerie bag to soak and dye. This will help greatly keeping the fibers organized.
Weights measured are approximate. I use a electronic digital scale that weighs to one tenth of one ounce. Due to humidity or the limits of my scale the weight could vary more or less.
Grades of mohair, together with their spinning counts equivalents, are: super kid, d36’s and 40’s; kid, 30’s and 32’s; yearling, 26’s and 28’s; fine adult, 22’s and 24’s; adult, 18’s and 20’s
