Snow Leopard Quilt I made. Using cheater print F13195-MULTI I cut out 66 “squares” blocks. From these blocks I selected a light shade and a dark shade, right sides together, marked a line diagonally and stitched a quarter inch from the line forming the half square triangle block. Press, seams open (to avoid bulk) Trim block to 5.5” square. Using 3/4 yard additional flannel fabric (blue snowman leopard) Cut (22) 5.5” squares. Lay out your 88 blocks as desired and sew your blocks together. I wanted my quilt a little bigger so added a 6” border using 1 yard F13192-CORNFLOWER. Quilt the front, back and batting together. Binding: From 1/2 yard WOF F13193-ICEBLUE Cut 6 strips 2.5” wide. Backed with 4 yards of F13191-DENIM. (I actually pieced the backing using less fabric) Finished size: 48” x 60”
If you already have a quilt pattern you like using 5” pre-cuts it will likely be easier to piece together. I was challenging myself to see how much I could get out of the fabric available… See my blog for more images.
