Snow Leopard Quilt

This is a Quilt I made using Riley Blake Snow Leopard Double Nap Flannel Fabric designed by Amanda Niederhause.

Using 2 yards (or 12 rows) Cheater Print F13195-MULTI I cut out 66 “squares” blocks. From these blocks I selected a light shade and a dark shade, right sides together, marked a line diagonally and stitched a quarter inch from the line forming the half square triangle block.

Press, seams open (to avoid bulk) Trim block to 5.5” square.

Using 3/4 yard additional flannel fabric (blue snowman leopard) I Cut (22) 5.5” squares.

Lay out your 88 blocks as desired and sew your blocks together.

I wanted my quilt a little bigger so added a 6” border using 1 yard Rows of Snowmen F13192-CORNFLOWER.

Quilt the front, back and batting together.

Binding: 1/2 yard Ice Blue Snowflakes F13193-ICEBLUE Cut 6 strips 2.5” wide WOF.

Backing 4 yards of Denim Blue Plaid F13191-DENIM. (I actually pieced the backing using less fabric)

Finished size: 48” x 60”

If you already have a quilt pattern you like using 5” pre-cuts your could substitute the cheater print accordingly. I was challenging myself to see how much I could get out of the fabric available…

Please note: If you like my quilt and want to make one for yourself I have this fabric line on CLEARANCE, limited supply.

Follow the fabric link indicated in the pattern above and it takes you to the home page, that print has sold out.

Quilt blocks sewn together in strips.

Quilt Top Complete with added border.
