Merino Silk Roving 80/20

Merino Silk Roving 80/20
Ashford Color Blend
Sold in 50g = 1.75 ounce increments
Ashford’s sumptuous fiber blend in beautiful random color ways, 80% merino and 20% silk.
The fine 22 micron merino and the luster of the silk makes this a truly luxurious blend. Create fine, lacy and lightweight yarn for knitting or unique semi-worsted yarns for weaving.
Ready to spin into special luxury yarn. Fiber is prepared into a wool top. Perfect if handspinning worsted yarns, by spinning off the end, keeping your fibers parallel. Can be easily spun into a semi worsted (lofty woolen type) yarn over the fold or side of preparation. If recarded in drum or hand cards will produce a roving for woolen spinning.
Note: Shades may vary from stock images.
Although Artfelt paper looks just like interfacing that dissolves in water, artfelt® Paper is quite different. This paper was specifically designed for this method of felting and is the only “dissolving” product available that will ONLY dissolve with boiling water, not simply water. This is very important distinction, as your piece needs to be wet to felt.
Measurements are approximate
Scarf size paper includes plastic sheet. 10 foot x 5 foot paper does not.

Great for Hand Dyed Fabrics and Yarns.
Synthrapol is a special detergent used to remove unattached excess dye from hand dyed fabrics. It also removes sizing from fabric prior to dyeing. It will allow even color when used in the dye bath.
Prewashing in Synthrapol helps remove impurities that can interfere with the dye and cause uneven dyeing.
Synthrapol as the afterwash keeps loose dye particles of dye in suspension so they don't stain other areas of the fabric or bleed.
(2 oz) of Synthrapol per full washing machine load for standard fabrics like cotton or rayon and 1/8 cup (1 oz) for finer fabrics like silk.
