Quick and simple to attach, this additional front roller gives you the freedom to weave longer lengths of fabric and the freedom to weave with thick weft yarns, all the while keeping the optimum sheds.
Weave double width projects with ease, weave rag or rya knot rugs longer and thicker, weave with super yarns, and weave multiple projects without cutting and re-leashing the warp.
Kit includes Freedom Roller with clicker pawl, warp stick and warp stick ties.
When using your Freedom Roller, there is no need to cut off the warpstick on your original roller. Simply turn the original roller so the warpstick and ties are down, out of the way of your warp going on the freedom roller.
Leave the knobs on your loom and you can quickly switch between using the loom with or without the Freedom Roller.
The Freedom roller can be used with the new style Rigid Heddle Stand Variable, attached at the rear of the loom or alternatively it can be used on the front with the loom on a table. It can not be used on the older style width floor stand.
The Freedom rollers are only compatible with the standard Rigid Heddle Looms, they do not fit SampleIt Looms or Knitters Looms.
Features:
Quick and easy to attach
Manufactured from beautiful beech timber
Available for Ashford Rigid Heddles Looms: 16" 24" 32"

The author spent four summers (1930–33) living and working among the Navajo, during which time she learned the principles of weaving. In this book she takes readers through the same process, introducing the careful details, the personalities she encountered, and the materials and methods of weaving in the Navajo style.
The spinning of the yarn, the dyes, the equipment, the weaving processes, the designs and colors, even the tensions and textures of the final product are all part of weaving a Navajo blanket. The author guides readers through each step, from choosing the wool through carding and spinning warp and weft yarns, building and setting up a loom, creating a design, and carrying out the actual weaving. Although the emphasis is on typical blanket weaving, the author also covers the related arts of saddleblanket weaving, warp weaving, scalloped edge weaving, double-faced weaving, and sandpainting tapestries. She also comments on history, patterns, symbolism, the effect of the market, and other matters that affect the Navajo weaving style. In five appendixes she reviews the implements and materials of weaving, Navajo materials for natural dyes, weaving terms, and simple lessons in learning to weave a Navajo blanket. Nearly 100 photographs and line drawings illustrate the processes and finished work.
Crafters, whether they want to start from scratch or gradually add Navajo elements to their other weaving skills, will learn from this book the authentic steps of Navajo weaving. Collectors, ethnologists, and others will learn more about materials, techniques, and related matters that will help them in judging, appraising, and enjoying the processes that go into weaving a Navajo blanket.

Rigid Heddle Loom, 16” minimum width.
Reed Dent 15 DPI
Ashford Yoga yarn is 35% lighter in weight than the 100% cotton in an equivalent weight. Knit or weave your fabrics, jackets, pull-overs, scarves, shawls and home-wares which will have the bulk and density you want but at the same time staying light!. Yoga yarn has a nylon filament core completely covered by a cotton outer wrap! Get the best of both worlds: the strength and elasticity of nylon and the natural comfort and beauty of cotton! It is a 2 ply (two threads plied together) yarn - each ply is cotton spun over the nylon filament - the nylon filament is not visible and it will dye like 100% cotton.
Yoga yarn is 8/2, but looks and weaves like 5/2. You can use for your warp or weft or in any combination with other yarns. 82% Cotton, 18% Nylon core
